Paul Freemantle
- CTO and co-founder at WSO2

Paul is a veteran of the middleware and cloud industry, with more than 20 years experience in enterprise software and open source. Paul was instrumental in creating the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus and Carbon platform, and plays a key part in WSO2’s technical vision. Paul is a member of the Apache Software Foundation and has been contributing to open source for more than 15 years. He has an MSc in Computing from Oxford University, UK and a PhD from Portsmouth University, UK. Paul is a visiting lecturer at Oxford University, has published a number of peer reviewed articles, and has two patents. Paul previously worked at IBM where he was an STSM.
